Quick Start

After opening the app for the first time, follow these steps:

1. Choose HSK Level: Select your Chinese proficiency level (HSK 1-6)
2. Set Daily Goals: Configure daily new word and review limits in settings
3. Start Learning: Tap "Start Learning" on the home screen
4. Keep Reviewing: The app automatically schedules reviews using spaced repetition

Learning Mode

HSK Flashcards uses the SM-2 spaced repetition algorithm, one of the most effective memory methods.

Learning Flow:

• View the card front (Chinese character)
• Try to recall the pinyin and meaning
• Flip the card to check your answer
• Rate your recall (1-4)
• The system schedules the next review

Tip: Honest rating is important! It directly affects review scheduling.

Dictionary

The built-in offline dictionary includes all HSK 1-6 vocabulary with multiple search modes:

• Chinese Search: Enter Chinese characters directly
• Pinyin Search: Enter pinyin (supports tone numbers, e.g. ni3 hao3)
• English Search: Enter English definition keywords
• Handwriting: Draw characters for quick lookup

Handwriting Recognition

The app integrates Google ML Kit for handwriting recognition:

1. Tap the handwriting icon in dictionary
2. Draw the character in the writing area
3. System recognizes and shows candidates
4. Tap to select the correct character

Tip: Correct stroke order improves recognition accuracy.

AI Assistant

Premium users can access AI assistant features:

• AI Chat: Practice Chinese conversation with AI
• Word Analysis: Get detailed explanations and example sentences
• AI Quiz: Generate personalized quiz questions

Cloud Sync

After registering and logging in, your learning data syncs automatically:

• Learning progress and review status
• Favorites and word lists
• Learning statistics

Supports cross-device sync for seamless learning.
